On to Round 2!

Well last week all the votes were tallied and I made it on to round 2!  So, for this round at Supreme Scrap Tournament, it is all about monochromatics.  2 page layout, minimum of 1 photo and there needs to be a black and white photo. AND, a photo has to cross over to other side!  Can you say, "outside comfort zone?"  Well, here is my layout:

Here is a close up of the left side:

the right side:

It was a challenge and I guess that is the point, but I am happy with the outcome.  Guess we'll see when the voting starts again!

On another note, I did a challenge for CSI.  It was challenge 109.  Last time I did a challenge? Number 91!!  I loved the colors in this one.  Here is my layout:

I have also managed a couple of cards, but I will post those at a later date.  Thanks for stopping by!

Well, New Year, New Starts!

Can I just say that I am sooooooooooo glad that January is over and February is already in the middle?  Well, I am.

I have been doing some scrapping but not as much as I would like.  Although, I do expect that to change.  I just started participating in a "Supreme Scrap Tournament" that literally has participants all over the world!  How exciting to see other's work?  First challenge up, "1000 Steps from Home."  Here is my entry:

Title: A Southern Home

I used some new and older items.  Background paper is Bazzill.  Chipboard accents/borders is Heidi Grace.  Foam Letters are from My Paper Studio. Flourishes are American Crafts "Remarks" collection.  The paper borders I colored with Tim Holtz distress ink and they are also Bazzill.  I created the background using a stencil by Studio Calico and Liquitex modeling paste. I colored with Tim Holtz distress in pads.  Journaling reads: "Just outside my front dorr, on my walking tour of my neighborhood, there is this old, beautiful Plantation Home.  It is your traditional, Southern Plantation that now serves as a museum as well as a bed and breakfast.  I love that I live in the glorious south and have such easy access to ..."

Thanks for looking!

So, this week's challenge is up at Child's Play Blog.

I vaguely remember the movies.  Andy Rooney. Yep, enjoyed them. Here is my take:

My inspiration was the colors of the dragon and the title comes from my friend Laura who always says, "for the love of Pete!"  Well, it fit here for I asked my son to take pics of his Senior Breakfast, surprisingly enough, he did!!

Go over and take a look and others takes on this, maybe you'll be inspired!

Guest Designer at Child's Play!

So, as I may have mentioned, I was asked to be a "Guest Designer" over at Child's Play Challenges.  Well, the first challenge is up over there.  Here it is:

And here is my interpretation:

My daughter used to play Barbies with the neighbor girls all the time.  They would set up a little village and play for hours!  Then the boys would come in with their army men!!  Now, she is all grown and it is a distant memory.  I hope she passes this on to any daughters she may have in the future!!

Stay tuned for more in the coming month!
