Good Day My Peeps! I so apologize for being away for so long. "Life" as I know it, has changed! I am in the "working world" and it has definitely changed my way of doing things. I promise I will post some very interesting stories of my days at the airport. Some are quite "interesting." For now, I am going to post some items I came across that I think you'll find as interesting and funny as I did. This first one is of a little boy who has come from the dentist. I wish I would have recorded my son when he was 2 and he had an "emergency" dental visit! Would have been as cute as this! Enjoy.
Now, Ladies, would YOU fake a 911 call if you knew one of these guys would show up?
If you thought YOU were having a bad day?!
The Story Behind the Oscar Meyer Song
Oscar G. Mayer the 3rd Oscar Mayer that Founded Oscar Mayer Foods Died Wed Jun 8th. of old age. He was 95.
Well, time for me to take a bath and head off to bed. Working tomorrow and have to be awake by 2:30 a.m. at the LATEST!! Son has his Swimming Invitational this weekend and I'll be there. Hope to get some good pictures and even some video. Have a good one and I promise to be back here soon. God Bless.

Randomness {taking from another Blogger!}
and you know who you are!
Started at 7 a.m. this morning at work. I swear, it's tough and it will only get tougher! I finished more Computer Courses and I have just a few more! I went out in the Lobby and filled in a bit. Not real busy today! {*shocker*} I will go in tomorrow for 7 again. Got word on my new schedule: ready for this? Don't think I am! Friday thru Tuesday, 4 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.! yep. You read that right. A.M. as in BEFORE the chickens get up!! At least I'll be home by 11 a.m.?! Right? I have the middle of the week off, Wednesday and Thursday. I have "Seniority" and when the "Bids" come around I'll try and change my days off!! Maybe have Friday/Saturday off? or Sunday/Monday? I mean, I'll get off at 10:30 on Saturday morning, so it's like having a long weekend!? I think bids come every 3 months. Not sure where we are now! Now, when they get enough of us, they will have class instruction. Those hours will more than likely be 7 a.m. to 4. Not sure yet. It'll be another couple of weeks.
I'll be making some changes as far as playing Volleyball! There is no way I can continue to play like I do with that kind of schedule. If I have to get up at 2:30 I definitely want to be sleeping by 9:30 at the VERY latest!! So, the late games are going to have to go. If not, I'll burn out quick! Thank goodness Ryan finishes swim team this week. Now, I did mention the Invitational the weekend of July 18th and I should be able to get off no problem. Seeing as I am not working the computer terminal for it is all GREEK and RUSSIAN to me! LOL
I am so behind on my P365. Sad really. I just haven't been in the mood lately. I still have pictures to sort on my computer from vacation. Hopefully I can "veg out" this weekend and work on it. I took Monday off, for my daughter is getting her braces on!! It also happens to be her birthday. Poor girl. SHE chose the day! I'll make her a cake and have some family over and some friends. "Sweet 16." Wow. Where did all those years go? It's amazing how our children age and we don't?! Well, at least for me anyway! LOL She is at the beach with a friend. She will return on Saturday. My son will also return Saturday. He'll return again Thursday for the Swim Meet, but he'll be finished with camp on Saturday.
We finally go some RAIN this evening! We sooooooo needed it. The heat index has been between 105 and 110! That's H-O-T!![]()
Well, that's about all that has been going on here. I have to go and get dressed for a Volleyball game. Haven't even played yet on this team! Missed the first 2 weeks. I want to watch the last game of the College World Series. L.S.U. is playing Texas! We are up 3 - nothin! Need to keep the lead! Shut up Bean!! I don't care WHERE your heart is! The Tigers are gonna win!!! ![]()
Hope everyone has a good night. God Bless.

Details of my first week in "The REAL World!"
Well, I started working last week. Talk about an adjustment. Not the "getting up and getting ready" part, the ACTUAL driving to work! I am an earlybird, so I was usually ready in plenty enough time. All I know, my feet and legs are KILLING ME! The first 2 days I sat at a computer terminal taking a "Tutorial" on Customer Service and "Handling Customers with Disabilities." joy. It took me actually 3 days to complete both CD's. Monday, I had to go to the Security office and take ANOTHER TEST!! ![]()
I had to sit at another computer terminal and watch a video. Ater each section, I had to take a quiz. I could only miss 2 or I would have to come back the next day and do it all again. Thank GOD I passed! I then had to go to another office to get my airport ID. Then I walked and walked and walked to the Parking office to get my parking pass for the employee parking lot. By the time I left, it was already after 4! I totally missed lunch! Tuesday, not only did I miss lunch, again, I didn't even eat breakfast!! I was soooo not a happy person when I got home.
REALLY not Happy! I couldn't even tell you what I did. I was tired. Wednesday I worked in the lobby and helped out customers at the kiosks. I even pulled tags for the luggage and placed the luggage for TSA to check. It was fun, but I REALLY need to find some decent, comfortable shoes for that HARD floor. It's okay if I am behind the counter, but if not ...
About to start the last week of Swimming. Tonight and Thursday are the last 2 of the season. Invitational is in July. Here are some pictures from last week and a video.
We won against Ellington. On Thursday, headed over to Belle Terre. We won that one also. They have only lost one and that was against Larayo. No surprise there!! Tonight they swim against LaVacherie and Thursday, Riverlands. Two tough swim teams. Not sure HOW we'll do. They have lots of "year-round" swimmers. Here are some pictures from last Thursday's meet against Belle Terre!
Well, that is about it for now. Both kids left yesterday for the week. Ryan will be coming in on Monday and Thursday for the swim meets. He is at Boy Scout Camp while Emilie is in Gulf Shores! Ahhhh, a break from the 2 of them. Now THAT'S what I call a "Vacation!" Have a good one. I'll post when I have time!! God Bless.

Mountain Vacation - Final Days with LOTS of pics
Day 6. Thursday. Well, we didn’t go into North Carolina today! Weather had predicted more thunderstorms passing thru and I didn’t want to chance it. Hubby and I went out for a brief bit. Wanted to go back to the “Farmers Market” and hit a few “antique” shops. I bought a candle for my neighbor who took care of my dogs for me. I also bought a cute little bowl to put into my scrap cabinet to use as storage. Isn’t it cute? I was looking at the skies and it was getting a little “dark” for my tastes. I told hubby we need to hurry because I remember how FAST the rain came the other night and I didn’t want to get caught trying to drive up a mountainside!! We stopped at the Dollar General because, well, I needed more Diet Coke to go with my Coconut Rum! LOL No. Seriously. I did. By this time, my driving skills had definitely improved, but I really didn’t want to chance it. It started raining. It wasn’t really hard, but you could see that it was coming! Our son was a little worried about us, because apparently, the “Storm” had passed thru by the cabin! It was a flashback to the other night. By the grace of God, we had missed it! BUT, you could see all the debris left behind on the road. GREAT. NOT driving an “off-road” vehicle, remember? We made it. Without any undo craziness!! Whew! That was close.
I cooked again tonight. We had porkchops and veggies. It was a good meal. After, since we didn’t go to North Carolina today, we decided to go back and use our “Free” coupons for putt putt, but this time, play the “Diamond” course. No hole in one for anyone tonight. Aww. Also decided not to take a picture. We got back early. Before dark. That’s always good. LOL We played cards. I dug DEEP for change so we could have some money to play with. I think we all got about $2 in change. Poor Ryan. Wasn’t doing so well! We played for a while, then decided to make it an early night! We were going to go and get breakfast in the morning then head to the Biltmore House!
Day 7. Friday. We went to “Mel’s Diner” for breakfast! Nope, Alice wasn’t there and neither was Flo. Our waitress was great! She was too funny. Been working as a waitress for 22 years! I gave her a hard time for she “messed” up our order just a bit! Nothing major. It was all in good fun! Once we left there, we headed to North Carolina. We apparently took the “Scenic Route.” It was about a 2 hour drive, but it was nice. Thank goodness kids 16 and younger got in free this summer because it cost $50 each for hubby and me!! That’s $100 just to go to the house. It also gained us access to the Farm and the Winery, where there was FREE wine tasting. My daughter said there ought to be MORE FREE stuff when it cost what it did! LOL I was disappointed because I couldn’t take pictures INSIDE the house! What a shame. We took some pictures outside. The house is spectacular. I think Ryan’s favorite part was the indoor pool. Think 1930’s. Subway tile. Wooden ladders. It was all indoors AND in the basement part! The deepest part was 10 feet! Across from the pool was the “Gymnasium.” All wooded stuff. It was cool. There were also about 6 separate “Dressing Rooms” for guests! I thought that was cool. My kids commented on the beds. They were small compared to beds now. I told them, way back then, food was so natural that a “Tall” man was about 5’7”, there wasn’t hormones that they have now. People weren’t as “Big” as they are now. Overall, it took us just over an hour to tour the home. It was nice. We drove out and around passed the winery, but we still had another hour before the next tasting and tour, so we decided against it. The land/property was spectacular! We stopped when we saw geese! I took a few pics.
Here are some pictures from the day:
I was really disappointed that I couldn't take pictures INSIDE the place! How do you tell a "Scrapbooker" she CAN'T take pictures?! The grounds were spectacular! Anyway, we headed back and decided we would go to Bennett’s BBQ for dinner. It was absolutely delicious! I had baby back ribs and chicken. Also some cole slaw and green beans. And YES! I ate it all!! They also served a cornbread muffin with it. I ate that too! LOL There is something about being in the mountains and eating!! Now, it was 10 a.m. when we had breakfast. It was now 6 and we didn’t have lunch!! That was how most of our days went: big breakfast, late dinner! Anyway, why am I justifying my meals while on vacation to you? It’s none of your business. Really. I don’t judge you. Well, not out loud anyway! LOL ;-)
Day 8. Final/Departure Day
Well, we knew that as soon as we got back to our cabin, we needed to start gathering our items to pack. The plan was to leave about 9 a.m. and go back to the “Red Rooster” for breakfast before hitting the road home. I lost my large memory card for my camera! I did upload the pictures, but I can’t seem to find it. Hoping maybe it turns up when we get home, but, I’m not holding my breath. We ended up leaving about 9:30 and headed over to get breakfast. I’m not going to tell you what I ate. Don’t judge me!! I know you are. Ryan, the first time there, ordered pancakes. Not just any pancakes. Bavarian Crème pancakes!! He ate maybe half. Talk about sugar overload! This time, he ordered Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip pancakes. O. M. G.! He again could only eat maybe half. He did finish my breakfast instead! I tried his. They were good. Rich. But good. It reminded me of a sandwich my grandmother used to make me and my mom did also, when I was a small child. They would take creamy peanut butter in a bowl and mix in syrup until the consistency was just smooth enough to spread on white bread. Such sweet, great memories! Now, grant it, you can only eat that is small doses!! My hubby ordered a “Skillet” meal and the “child’s” version of the Bavarian Crème pancakes! Just enough “sweetness” to finish a meal. My “Skillet” meal consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham served on a bed of hashbrowns and topped with cheese. YUM – E! I told you not to judge me!! I will be fasting all next week. AND hitting the gym. Well, I’ll try anyway. Told my friend Glynda that I needed to stay away from the “highway scales” for fear they would take us off the road because of the “tonnage.” She was also complaining she needed to get back to working out for she gained 7 pounds! Once I get to work and get a “routine” we WILL go and work out again in the mornings! I told her to stay away from the Airport Scales in the meantime! LOL
We arrived back at home about 9:30 or so. We had stopped for dinner because I had nothing at home. I needed to get to the grocery tomorrow. We unloaded the car and I put some things away. I just wanted to get into the tub and wash away the drive. My dogs were SO SO happy to see us! Riley peed on me! He hadn’t done that in a very long time. Now, my neighbor came over every day, 4 times a day to let them out. They were NOT neglected in any way. Riley loves Lora! They were loved. I was glad to not have put them in a kennel for a week. He would have been hoarse from whining and crying! It has happened before.
Well, that was our week all “wrapped up” for you. I decided to post according to the days of this week. I knew that it would be crazy with getting back to work and all. Hope you enjoyed it! Sorry I missed a day or two this week. It has been crazy! Hope you had a good weekend.

Mountain Vacation: Days 5 & 6
Day 5 of our Vacation. Wednesday. I awakened about 9. Did not want to sleep any later. I made pancakes for breakfast. They were good. Hubby and I decided to tour out to some shops he wanted to visit. Me, I wanted to go to the scrapbook store I saw the other day! ;-) Hit a “clearance” store where everything was discounted PLUS you got 50% off your total order! I got about 20 sheets of paper and a couple of other items and wound up spending only $10!
Then I walked next door to a LSS and found some Ranger Inks I didn’t have and knew that I couldn’t get at my local Mike’s. Picked up the last issue of “Simple Scrapbooks” magazine along with the month before. I was done. There wasn’t anything else that I needed. Hubby and I stopped at the grocery for more milk and a couple of items, then came back to the cabin. It was not a nice drive! It had started raining. I was worried about trying to get up the mountainside.
We made it. Whew! Tonight we are queing some burgers! Plan on having a semi-early night because tomorrow, I want to drive to Asheville, North Carolina to the Biltmore House! We are about an hour away and it will make a great “Day Trip.” I plan on packing some sandwiches and such. Hopefully there won’t be any rain. We’ll see. Catch you guys later.
Wait! Hold the fort. You ARE NOT GONNA BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!! @ 8:30 p.m. the power goes out. Big Deal, right? True, but rain is coming over the mountains. I have pictures. Not your typical shower. It’s still rather light out. Remember, it stays light until @ 9 or so. Nice breeze blowing. We notice that the floor by the windows {which you cannot open!} are leaking! Nice. Had a towel nearby. Next, decide we should call the guard shack to let them know we have no power. About 30 minutes had gone by. Cell phones. NO SERVICE! No problem. We do have landline in cabin. NOPE. It’s a cordless, therefore, won’t work without electricity! NOW WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO???? On the side porch facing the cabin next to us. Gentleman lets us know they got intouch with the owner who in turn, would let the guardshack know we had no power. In the binder we have, it states, “Power outages are rare.” Yeah right. Now it has gotten really dark! In the mountains. Did I mention that there are NO CANDLES OR LIGHTING here in the cabin? Nope. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. Good thing my “cop” hubby brought his police flashlight! Good thinking baby! ;-) Now at this time, my sis and I are texting back and forth. She asks, “How far is the nearest store?” I reply, “If you think I am going down THIS MOUNTAIN, in the DARK, while it’s RAINING, not just no, but HELL NO!!” Again, I remind you of any and ALL HORROR movies out there. “Camp Crystal Lake” comes to mind. She tells me to enjoy the “silence.” Umm, HELLOOOOO!! Have you ever been in the mountains, in the dark? There IS NO SILENCE!! All the “creatures” are out there plotting their revenge! Seriously. Those raccoons are planning on coming back. Again. The ONLY nice thing is that I see “lightning bugs!” Now, by this time, it is very, very dark. I can see across the valley that THOSE cabins have power! We’re on vacation, this should not be happening. My son is upstairs in my bed. Daughter is in her bed on the main level and I am also on the main level. I decide to watch a movie on the portable DVD player. So I watch “Mamma Mia.” I need an uplifting scene to watch. Finally, I get up to go and get in the bed with my daughter and the power comes back on! YAY! It’s about 12:30 a.m. Great. I decide to head up to my own bed. Send son downstairs. I fall asleep. I wake about 7:30 and my hubby is already awake. Apparently power had gone out again during the early morning. Stayed out for about 2 hours. I lay in the bed until about 9 and get up to make some breakfast. Not a pretty day. So much for going into North Carolina. I am not about to drive down this mountain and into another part of the mountain range, when there are storms brewing about! There is a “Flash Flood Watch” in effect until 3 p.m. Guess we’ll go tomorrow and just play putt putt golf tonight. No biggie. I think I’ll just get out and take a walk or something. I do have my book to read plus 2 new “Simple Scrapbook” magazines. Hubby tells me that the “coons” came back again last night and got in to the garbage. Again. Joy. This is WHY we couldn’t leave the doors open last night for the breezes!! Can only imagine WHAT would have been in this cabin.
Day 6.
